Black Forest Cake



Black Forest Cake

Cake:
1 pkg pudding style dark chocolate cake mix
1 1/4 cup water
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs

Filling:
1 (21oz) can cherry pie filling
1/2 tsp almond extract

Frosting:
1 pint (2 cups) Whipping cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons brandy

Chocolate shavings


Preheat oven 350 degrees, grease and flour 2 8 or 9 inch round cake pans.

Make cake mix following directions on box, pour batter evenly into both pans.

Bake according to directions, let cool completely

In a bowl, mix the filling ingredients

In a bigger bowl, whip the cream at high til thickened, add powdered sugar slowly. Beat until still peaks form. Fold in brandy

Put 1 cake upside down on a plate, (serving, special or carry along) spread about 1 cup of the filling on top, but not to close to the edge. Place 2nd cake on top of first layer. (top side up) Frost cake, sides to the top with the Whipped cream. Decorate the top center of cake with remaining filling mix, and Garnish as you like.

Refrigerate
